A challenge for those who go. A dream for those who stay behind.

"A challenge for those who go. A dream for those who stay behind." I think that this sentence by Thierry Sabine soon became true according to all BO!Run series :-)

Web site

Today I get a project of the web-site, which is the main tool to promote and register participants for all rallies. There will be some corrections to be made, but not much. The site is made in English and Polish versions.
I hope in one week time I'll be able to launch the project.
That will be quite big thing in whole off-road community in Poland :-)
No one started with five rallies in the same time yet! And with so different rallies, ranging from easy weekend-long up to a three week long expedition-like!

Creation of Adventure

Not everyone likes Adventure, I think.
Here are people, who prefer to sit comfortably in front of TV set or in the pub and just talk about adventures, sipping a beer and smoking cigarette. Those are people, who always will be in the same place, at the same time. They, in fact, are scared of the world. They read about terrorism, powerty, dangers of the outside world, and decided to stay safe at home. But world is not only a safe place by the fire place, comfortable and warm. If you want to see beautiful places, you have to take a risk. Holiday resorts will not always take you to real gems of the world. They will show you only small part of it for the hefty price. Those "beautes" are often prepared especially  for them. Is it what you are about? Yes, you can climb Mount Everest now, with team of sherpas, who in fact will bring you there, You can sail around Cape Horn - on deck of luxury cruise ship, together with two thousand another passengers, You can land on North Pole, taken there in a helicopter, take a pictutre, and for a dinner be in warm lodge... But You can not tell, that you lived an Adventure of Your life. Because to say, that you lived an adventure, You have to really LIVE it, not just watch it. And in that case is not a difference, if you will watch it from the sette in your house, or from a seat in panoramic restaurant on the top deck of luxury passenger ship... Oh, pardon me, there is one difference - a seat on passenger ship will cost you much, much, much more...

I don't say, that everyone has to be like Shackleton, like Columb, Amundsen or Hillary. Here is only one South Pole to conquer, one Everest, one America to discover. But we can discover the world for ourselves. For me it is no matter, if someone had been watching sand dunes of Sahara before me. The only thing what matter, is the fact that I discover for me beauty of such dune and moon shining over...
I think, that here is more people thinking the same way. And I'm correct - that's why such events as Budapest - Bamako run become so extremely popular. That's why places for Rickshaw Run or Rickshaw Challenge are sold in matter of just few days!

The world is smaller and smaller every year. With internet and satellite communication become almost as small as orange. But for people who are still hungry for Adventure, the world has still many opportunites.
Today I'm using internet to fulfill my dreams - to find people, who are thinking the same way as me.

Soon BO!Run will be announced :-) Apart of that, next move will be Casablanca Challenge, Crusaders Run, Aurora Run...

BO!Run

My name is Arkadiusz Pawelek. I live in Poland.
If You will read About Me, than maybe You will understand why I decided to create new events like BO!Run, Casablanca Challenge, Aurora Run, Crusaders Run...

Where from is the name BO!Run? First two letters are abbreviation from Polish words Bez Ograniczeń - No Limits! That is the main idea of all rallies. At the end of this post is something more about rules. A new web site will be published in the middle of December 2009.

On the beginning I just got an idea to create one new event for Adventure-hungry people :-) But later it struck me, that people might want to live with me not just one adventure a year, not only in Poland. So, basing on the same principles as BO!Run I decided to make few another rallies.

Together will be five new adventures to choose!
That is my Idea of contaminating people with Adventure Bug :-)
Below is something more about that challenges

BO!Run - Adventure event in Poland
Casablanca Challenge - Adventure event in Morocco
Crusaders Run - Adventure across Europe
Aurora Run - Adventure event in Russia - start from the Atlantic Ocean Coast in Portugal, finish line in Kamchatka, on the very east of Russia, on coast of Pacific Ocean.
Santa Claus Run - Winter adventure event in Poland and Russia

Here is an extract form the site borajd.pl:

BO! Run is an event where everyone on anything can participate. Simple rules, or in fact NO RULES! Minimal limitations for participants and for vehicles and for chosen route and maximum Adventure, clear principles and classification.

All Events are connected with Charity. For the Charity is going part of Entry Fee, which we are giving for chosen orphanage. That way fulfilling our dreams we are giving hand for those less fortunate than us. We are giving them second chance. Of course everyone is welcome to give more for Charity than obligatory a few hundreds Euros per team :-)
